From research insight to practical application

Our deep understanding of the Outstanding Leadership principles stems from our intimate involvement with the initial research – be that conducting interviews, helping the research team to translate their emerging findings in practical insights and take-aways, or planning and delivering events to disseminate those insights.

Critically, we also rose to the challenge of investigating the extent to which it is possible to help leaders move along the pathway from Good to Outstanding through designing and delivering a pilot development programme – Enabling Outstanding Leadership – which was itself heavily evaluated as Phase Two of the research.

Such was the impact of that initial programme, with high demand from participating organisations for additional places, that we were inspired to further develop the approach and methodology, and extend its application into wider settings.

We now deliver two open programmes each year, directly evolved from that original pilot, under the Towards Oustanding Leadership banner, along with a variety of in-house adaptations for different client organisations from the public, private and third sectors.

Responding to customer demand, we have also recently introduced a second open programme - Foundations for Outstanding Leadership – that is delivered in a less intensive, non-residential format and is especially suitable for participants who are at an earlier stage of their leadership development journey.

Far from simply repeating a successful formula, the content and approach continues to evolve subtly over time. Blending the learning and insights gained from working with leaders from a large variety of different sizes and types of organisations with emerging trends and further research in the leadership arena ensures that the content remains really fresh and vibrant.
